HIV/ AIDS is currently a major problem worldwide and within the African American community. Notably, little research has been done with African Americans in San Diego County in regards to HIV/AIDS. Although African Americans only account for a small proportion of the San Diego population there is clearly a need to assess their knowledge, attitudes and beliefs regarding HIV/AIDS.
